About Me
Hi! My name is Savannah Todd. My rabbitry is 37 holes, and I believe quality before quantity. I mostly have black torts and blacks, but I occasionally get blue torts and blues to pop up. I am currently working on a color project with all four varieties (black, blue, chocolate, and lilac) in self and otter. My lines consist of mostly Hailey's Hollands, LL, Brocks Fallen Ear's, and Pride N Joy.
My rabbitry is located close to Seymour, IN. I'm around an hour south of Indianapolis and an hour and a half north of Louisville, KY.
I started out in this hobby during the winter of 2008 with the help of Julie of Twin Barns. Julie has been an amazing mentor for me and answering so many of my questions. After breeding and learning more about hollands, I got to know Denise Crafton. She generously allowed me to purchase a pair to help my herd, and has since been another mentor to me in this breed. I picked up my new buck from Denise, Chase's Loverman, at a show and entered him. There I earned my first Best of Breed and even received honorable mention for Best in Show. I was hooked! Since then I have held my own in the holland competition. I went to my first Holland Lop Nationals in April 2011. I went for the fun of it, as I didn't believe I had the quality to be competitive nationally just yet. To my surprise I placed 25th/66 SSB and 6th/48 BSB. I have decided to get even pickier with my herd lately, so I began talking to Hailey Ward. Hailey is a breeder in California with some awesome stock. At the 2011 Convention in Indianapolis I picked up my new buck from her, Hailey's Moose. Moose has been a phenomenal herd buck for me. In April of 2014, I traveled to Jefferson, Wisconsin to my second nationals (and first time in open competition). That weekend will be a very memorable one for me, as I placed BOSV with Hailey's Moose.
I believe in breeding as close to the standard as I can with good tempered holland lops. I'm a member of the ARBA and HLRSC. I enjoy talking and answering questions about hollands, so feel free to drop me a line at [email protected].
